Please see below some information for Karting Queensland, Karting Victoria and Clubs following the recent announcements from the respective governments.
KARTING QUEENSLAND AND CLUBS
Following the advice from the Queensland Government, additional face mask restrictions are now in place for the Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Gold Coast local government areas (LGAs). Anyone aged 12 years of above who has been anywhere in Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Gold Coast LGAs must follow these face mask requirements.
Anyone aged 12 years or above who has been, or who resides with someone who has been, in any of the above LGAs in the past 14 days must carry a face mask at all times and it is compulsory for it to be worn at all times in an indoor space and in an outdoor space if 1.5m separation from people who are not members of their household can’t be maintained.
No mass gathering for a Driver’s Briefing is permitted.
Queensland Kart Championship
A face mask or helmet (should the person be a driver about to compete in, or just finished, a race) must be worn by all people aged 12 years or above on the In Grid, Out Grid, Parc Ferme area. A face mask must be worn by all people aged 12 years or above in the Stewards Rooms and other similar areas at the circuit.
KARTING VICTORIA AND CLUBS
Following the release of the latest Public Health Directions by the Victorian Government, please see below a summary of what they indicate for activities at your Club at the current stage.
REGIONAL (Other than Eastern Lions Kart Club and Gippsland Kart Club)
There is no change to the previous advice, your Circuit is able to be open for Social Karting Activities based on the following requirements: – Open for all ages for training purposes only – The activity does not involve a participant who ordinarily resides in the Restricted Area – Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies – Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. Drivers, Coaches, Officials) – Spectators not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as Officials and one parent to supervise their children) – Masks will continue to be required everywhere indoors and outdoors (except private residences), unless an exemption applies. – COVID-19 Check-In Officers as per Victorian Government requirements
It is anticipated that Competition will be able to resume in November with limited numbers at your venue. Further information will be provided over the coming weeks and Karting Victoria will be working with Clubs on the scheduling of events as this is confirmed by the Government.
GO-KART CLUB OF VICTORIA, OAKLEIGH GO-KART RACING CLUB, EASTERN LIONS KART CLUB AND GIPPSLAND KART CLUB
The current Stay at Home Orders prohibit any activities being conducted at your Circuit. It is expected that Social Karting Activities will be able to resume at your Circuit in late October.
The Roadmap published by the Victorian Government outlines the intention for Competition to be able to resume in November (in line with Regional Clubs) with limits on the maximum number of people allowed at your venue.
Confirmation on the dates for the ability to host Social Karting Activities (expected to be late October) and Competition (expected to be November) is anticipated in the coming weeks.
